The only solution I've found for this is to manually adjust the gain on the snare/toms to balance them out (often when this is the case, the toms are too loud).

The packs that you have are some that especially have this issue. I have also found that the Snare is often too quiet but it depends on the kit (some of them sound fine out of the box while others not so much). This should enable the ability to choke like normal. The solution I found that works for me is under Settings > MIDI > Cymbal Choke Shot: OFF. I also had issues with cymbal-choking and ended up fiddling with my TD-17 module settings.I agree that the Metal AdPack is great and I too don't play metal! Glad to see someone else enjoying the same setup. I've got direct USB from module to my laptop (MacBook pro), and then just running my headphones from the audio-out of the laptop. So I need to manually tweak the snare volume each time I change kitĭid you have any problems like this? Not sure if its because there is no in-built TD-17 presets, so I'm using the TD-11 presets which generally work well (occasionally I need to manually remap stuff though) The snare volume sounds very low relative to all the other drums, pretty much on every kit.I need to turn off cymbal-choking in order for the cymbals to trigger correctly (otherwise they immediately auto-choke after being hit).I don't even play metal music, but the sounds in the metal pack sound great all the same. I agree the sounds are fantastic, and much more enjoyable to play to than the (already quite good) module sounds. I'm also using a TD 17KVX, and picked up AD2 a few months ago (with the Fairfax 1+2 and Black Velvet AdPacks), and just added the Metal AdPack this week during the 50% sale. I am very happy with my purchase from XLN Audio and definitely recommend anyone else who is interested to jump on this 50% off promotion (ends September 3rd). This definitely beats anything your module can do, even if you’ve purchase professionally tuned sounds. The UI is intuitive and everything just seems to work. The variety of samples included in the complete package is fantastic and I’m having a blast experimenting with them. I have audio coming directly out of the Mac and am able to play along to audio on my computer with ease.

Addictive drums 2 sale full#
I was thinking I may need a full audio interface like the Focusrite SCARLETT, but this doesn’t seem to be the case (I have heard it makes a bigger difference on Windows due to poor native audio drivers). I’m using USB directly instead as it seemed to let me customize my sample rate more. I also have the Roland UM-ONE-Mk2 (midi to USB), and the latency seems the same there.
Addictive drums 2 sale software#
My software is telling me the latency is 0.7ms but that sounds ridiculously low.with that said, I’m not noticing any latency and am usually really sensitive to it. I have the module connected directly to the MacBook Air using USB and once I took a minute to adjust some settings I’ve got it running perfectly. The standalone app works well too as does the DAW within GarageBand.
Addictive drums 2 sale mac os#
I’m using it with my TD17KVX and have it running through Logic as a DAW on a dated MacBook Air 2012 (dual core i7, 8GB RAM), with Mac OS Mojave. This is my first time purchasing a professional VST and have only dabbled with the trial versions. I wanted to leave some information for those wondering or who may be on the fence. I ended up picking up the complete AD2 package during this sale and am really enjoying it.
